Just added search abilities to my blog, thanks to David Cumps!

Some days I wonder why I bother sucking down all these RSS feeds and combing through post after post from around the world.  And then I see a post like this one.  No, it’s not the Outlook add-in that struck my fancy.  Keep going.  No, not the post on reducing the site of Powerpoint presentations.  Useful, but not enough to single-handedly reinvigorate my love of blog reading.  Farther down the screen…yes, that’s right.

It’s a pointer to an online Apple disk archive where you can (among hundreds of other titles!) play Oregon Trail online.  Through the magic of ActiveX (IE only folks, sorry…) you can spend hours playing titles without having to swap 5 1/4 in. floppy disks.

Wow the memories this brought back…

Independence

Starting off in Independence, MO.  Look at the stunning graphics!

Hunting

Stuck on the Oregon Trail with no food?  Easy.  Kill a bear!

Oregon

Finally, my first view of Oregon.  6 months later, my virtual self manages to make it to Willamette Valley, Oregon.  My virtual wife and two of my three virtual children, however, did not make it.  My score was severely reduced to reflect my negligence.

I’ll admit it.  Sometimes I have PR envy…like today, for example.

From the site’s “About” section:

“Welcome to our blog on the topics that we find interesting in our work life. It centers mainly around Microsoft infrastructure related technologies like Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Windows as most of our time is spent working with large-scale enterprise customers or Hosted Exchange. The subjects will be primarily centered around the learnings we get and the issues that we face in our daily work at Inceptio A/S (www.inceptio.dk).”

Some days ago I was "Blog-talking" with Steve Eichert about Blog's conversion. He was searching for a tool to move his posts from a .Text blog to a DasBlog one but noone seems to know if some tools to perform this task are available.

After a web search (not too simple) yesterday evening I've discovered the tool we was talking about... in these days Aaron Junod has developed a .Text to DasBlog Conversion Tool.

It's on an early beta stage and it permits to migrate only posts from .Text to DasBlog, but it's a good start. You can grab the source code from HERE.

Great work Aaron!
