Behold, “OneNote”.  There’s some history to this one, folks.  I started this skin almost a year ago as a “gift” for Chris Pratley.  Chris is the amazingly popular OneNote blogger who is also a Group Program Manager at Microsoft and has been involved with OneNote since its beginning.  I thought it would be really cool if he had a .Text skin that looked just like OneNote.

Well, for various reasons things didn’t work out and we couldn’t use the skin on the group site where Chris’s blog is hosted.  Instead, I was left with a skin that (after some investigation) needed some help in the cross-browser support department.  It made me glad we didn’t rush and put it on his site as some of the Safari and Firefox issues were quite ugly!

I’ve made some changes and employed some of the coolest browser hacks in the known universe.  The result, I think, is pretty neat.  It’s a .Text skin that looks almost like OneNote 2003.  It would be great for an Office geek’s blog or a TabletPC enthusiast’s site.  Take a look for yourself:

Feel free to take this and use it on your .Text blog.  Send me comments and emails and let me know what you think about it.  I have tested this in the latest versions of IE/Win, Firefox/Win and Safari/Mac.  It appears to be working on all three platforms.  If you run into issues with other browsers/platforms, let me know!

You can download the .ZIP file containing the skin by clicking here.  Be sure to read the “readme.txt” as it runs through how to install the skin and it also discusses a change that must be made to the skin for it to work properly on your site.  Enjoy!
