I use Webhost4life as my hosting provider – www.webhost4life.com.  I do so because they offer some great features for a very fair price.  I got unlimited bandwidth, ASP.NET, Perl, SQL, Access, mySQL, Windows Sharepoint Services, etc for ~$10/mo.

I reccomend them to everyone who asks - and I was reminded today why I do that.  And I was reassured that I’ve been making a good reccomendation to friends and family.  You see, what’s most important to me with a service is how they treat their customers when things go “wrong”.  I noticed today that I’m over my storage limit – but it’s the old storage limit (150MB) that has since been upped to 350MB.  I sent one email request and in less than 11 minutes, the problem was resolved.  (See the transcript of the service request below…)

They react like this *every* time I have something – whether it’s a little issue or a big issue.  Thanks to Eric, the staff member that handled my issue for me.  Keep up the great work!

I'm over my 150MB limit. I thought the advance plan was supposed to have 300MB? Either way, I need to see about getting my limit increased or upgrading plans so that I have enough storage. Also, I was unable to login to the support tool with my hosting account and password. Thanks, Bob

What error message did you recieved:
Received a popup message that I was exceeding my storage limit.

Fixed, you should have 300Mb now.
Thank you for using our Hosting Service.

Since my blog has managed to show up on a list of Virtualization Blogs (http://www.virtual-strategy.com/link/category/3/) at Virtual Strategy Magazine (www.virtual-strategy.com), I should probably post something related to virtualization from time to time.  ;-)

So, here’s a link from Kenneth at TechLog.org pointing to a series of tips from Ben Armstrong on migrating a physical computer to a virtual machine.  Ben is as knowledgable as anyone on Virtual PC – he’s a program manage on the Virtual Machine team at MicrosoftHis site is worth bookmarking – er, subscribing to in your agreggator.  (“Bookmarking” is so 2000…)  And for that matter, so is Techlog.org for Microsoft-related technology news…

On the blog of the Virtual PC Guy there are some interesting articles about migrating a physical computer to a virtual machine.
The articles are subdivided into four parts, and give a good overview of which problems can arise when you decide to migratie your physical machine to a virtual machine.
