I do not like it, Sam I Am.
Like Ali and Stefano, I've been slammed recently with spam comments. I returned from two days on the road to find 75 spam comments sitting on my blog and an email in my inbox announcing each one of them. To add injury to insult, my .Text installation isn't allowing me to turn of comments. Whatever changes I make are reversed when I click "Save" in the Admin tool. I found a similar issue on the support forums that reccomended making changes to the blog_Config table for .Text. A silly error on my part and I was left with a non-functioning blog (you may have noticed it was down all day) and 2 hours of work putting my own mess straight.
It looks like I am going to have to get with Dave Kekish and see how he added some spam protection to his comment feature requiring you to enter a code displayed as a JPG on the page. Its either that or start shopping for a new blog engine. I'm not about to spend this much time (I was spammed quite a bit last week as well!) managing this. Stupid spammers....

I had around 100 spam comments, like Stefano, two days ago which I had to connect to my SQL Server and delete them all using Query since they were too much and clicking delete, reassuring that I am sure and the clicking continue would have taken me some hours! One solution is as he said, implementing CAPTCHA images, there was an open source project on Code Project for that purpose which can be used, and the other way is just closing comments! But as Stefano has said, if Scott Watermasysk got the time, it would be good implementing one so we at least don't close our comments.
