Just found this great resource for experienced UNIX folks who want to get more comfortable with the Windows Server platform. If you visit http://www.windowsforunixpros.com, you'll find a ton of useful resources. In addition to the typical "how to migrate" whitepapers you would expect to see there are pointers to instructor-led training classes as well as a CBT you can either order on CD or complete online:

CBTs (self-paced classes and can be taken online or on CD as quickly as in 4 hrs)

  • Essentials of Windows for Unix administrators
  • Essentials of Windows for Unix developers

Not a bad resource for a UNIX guru looking to expand their knowledge a little.

HTH = "Hope This Helps"

I'm a complete idiot. I've seen this posted in newsgroups and forms a million times and never figured it out. Google is really a great tool:

Thanks to Skippy for passing this link along. If you're a regular reader, you know how much I despise the DMCA:

You know what honks me off even more than the fact that the DMCA seems to win in every court case brought against it? The fact that Congress is considering giving record labels and movie studios even more control over us consumers with a little something called the INDUCE Act.

"This legislation (formerly known as the INDUCE Act) would essentially give Hollywood veto power over a huge range of new technologies."

Yeah, just what we need. Visit www.savebetamax.org to find out more information and to help contribute in efforts to keep this situation from getting out of control.
