First of all, thanks to Mark Wagner for creating the cool new .Text Skin buttons. The idea he has is that people who create skins will add these to them so that when they're implemented other .Text users will be able to easily find that skin so they can install it on their .Text site. Wonderful idea, Mark.
So, because I needed to add the button to my existing creations, I've been tweaking the skins I've created for .Text a little bit.
I've now fixed a few annoying things and added some changes to the gallery viewer. Here's a list of improvements/modifications in version 2.0 of existing .Text skins:
-
Fixed gallery display problems including large landscape photos not displaying within the borders of the main section.
-
Adjusted widths of the main and menu areas.
-
Added new “.Text Skin“ button to menu. This is a small web graphic that allows users to easily find where to download the skin.
-
Fixed an annoying little issue in the WinXP Olive and Blue versions which would cause a small white band to be displayed at the top of some list views - for example, when looking at all the posts in summary view for a certain month or for a certain category.
Note for Mozilla/Netscape browsers: I just can't get the cascading style sheets for .Text skins that have a right-handed menu to display consistently on the Mozilla or Netscape browsers. I went ahead and optimized for IE (I know, lame web design practices!) and will fix this by creating left-handed menu versions of these skins. It has to do with widths and margins and how they are rendered in Mozilla compared to IE. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to discuss!
