Unlike this, I see some real use for OS X users in this. Virtual PC for Mac OS X is VERY slow – even on a relatively top-of-the-line G4 with lots of memory. Perhaps running Windows applications using WINE directly on OS X would be faster and easier for Mac users who need that “one Windows program” to get through their day.
The developers behind the Darwine project hope to bring the popular WINE technology first to Darwin and then to Mac OS X. If successful, Darwine could eventually pave the way to Mac OS X users being able to run Windows software without having VirtualPC or Windows installed.
